Product title length


 

Product names cannot exceed 200 characters (including spaces). This limit applies to all categories.

Product title requirements


 

Applicable to all non-media products in Amazon Global Marketplace. Violation of one of the following four conditions may result suppressing. 


 

1. The product title must follow the >200 character length (including spaces)

2. Title must not contain promotional terms, such as [free shipping], [100% quality guaranteed].

3. The product title must not contain characters used for decoration, such as ~ ! * $ ? _ ~ { } # < > | * ; ^ ¬ ¦

4. Title must contain information that identifies the product, such as [hiking boots] or [umbrella].

High-quality product titles are a key factor in ensuring a good customer experience on Amazon. Here are additional tips for improving the quality of your product titles. Amazon will only disable product title from appearing in search results if they violate one of the four requirements above, but we strongly recommend that you adhere to the following product name standards:


 

Product names should be concise.

Don't use all capital letters.

Capitalize the first letter of each word except a preposition, (in, on, over, with), a conjunction (and, or, for), or an article (the, a, an).

Use the number: [2] instead of [two two].

Do not use non-linguistic ASCII characters such as Æ, ©, or ®.

Product names should contain only the minimum information necessary to identify the product.

Do not use subjective evaluation terms such as "Hot Item" or "Best Seller".

Product names can contain necessary punctuation such as hyphens (-), forward slashes (/), commas (,), ampersands (&), and periods (.).

Abbreviate measurements such as [cm], [oz], [in], and [kg].

Size and color variations should be included in the child ASIN's product title, not the main product title.


 

The minimum requirements for a good title should be:


 

1. Within 200 characters. But because the mobile app only displays the first 60 characters of the title, the most important information should be placed within the first 60 characters;


 

2. Coherent, easy to read, and logical;


 

3. Include core keywords but avoid keyword stuffing.
